Forum Title: Sealing edge on patch
what is the proper material to seal the edge on a patch. We have been using the MA10melter after we cut out and patch with new hot asphalt. Thanks

To clarify, prior to patching you will want to tack the edges with an AC oil or css1h emulsion. Most use the emulsion. After the patch you can apply rubber as it seems as if you are already doing. Any crack Seal material will work. I would use caution to not do it right after patching. The mix is usually tender for a bit, and the rubber can pull up the fresh asphalt. Waiting a few days or sealing in cooler temps usually solves the problem, but proceed with caution.

If we are Cracksealing, then we usually go around patches with hot rubber. Asphaltman is right, give it some time or else it will easily pull up the mix.
